As of right now, you can get your Open Beta key for the first 24 hours on FilePlanet.  All you need is a free account and you’re in.  Better act fast if you want in today, because these keys will most likely be limited and taken very fast. (Remember, too, that this is only for the 24 hour exclusive period, and you can opt out and just start playing tomorrow.)

Here’s how to sign up for the first 24 hours of Mabinogi Open Beta:

1. If you haven’t already, sign up for an account at GameSpy or FilePlanet.  You do not need pay for a subscription to get a key.  When asked what payment option you want just scroll down and select “No thanks.”

2. Go to this page and click the “Start Playing” button.  Enter the security code shown and you will receive a beta key.

3. Go to Mabinogi’s home page, login to your account, then go to this page.

4. Enter the beta key you were given on fileplanet and click Activate.

Things to note:

• Currently, the client is downloadable through FilePlanet ONLY.  Which means unless you have a subscribed account, you’ll probably be waiting a while to even download the file.  The download should be available on Nexon’s site tomorrow afternoon.
• If you have a closed beta key, it will NOT work on open beta.  You must get a new key.
• If you currently have the client installed for the previous beta, you do NOT have to reinstall it.  In fact, if you wanted to you could patch it right now by starting the client.  (It’s actually been available to patch for a few days now and has come along so much that it would be a wise idea to patch now.)  If you decide to patch before 3:00 PST simply click the close button in the upper-right corner for the time being.
• If you decide not to take advantage of the FilePlanet exclusive time, you can begin playing at 3:00 PM PST on Thursday March 6th.

Also, for those of you that were involved in Closed Beta, your reward is waiting in the form of the “Beta Tester” title.  To claim it:

 

1. Go to the Mabinogi home page and login to the account you were beta testing with.

2. Along the left side, search for an image that reads “Closed Beta Tester: You’ve earned your title!” and click it.

3. Copy the code you were given somewhere.

4. Once Open Beta starts, go to the bank in Tir Chonaill, talk to the NPC behind the counter.  Click the “Coupon Code” button and enter the code you were given on the website.
