MapleTV: Coming to a gMS Near You?

UPDATE – 07/23/07: This thread on Sleepywood shows what was found hidden on the gMS website as per NX items coming out this week, and one of those items are the MapleTV megaphone item.  That being said, not only does that confirm a patch for this week but it also shows that we are in fact getting Maple TV in this patch, though as mentioned in the rest of this post it’s not much of a big deal.

With the announcement of New Leaf City throwing a curveball into many patch 0.40 predictions, another feature available in other versions of MapleStory seems to have been made for an almost imminent release to gMS.

On Monday, someone discovered a new directory on gMS’ patch FTP site.  Inside this directory were 3 flash files, each containing a scene that can be found on MapleTV, a sort of different broadcast system that started on MapleSEA and made its way to other versions later.  The system works somewhat like a megaphone/super megaphone, where a user buys a related item from the cash shop.  This allows them to display a message on the top of TV screens that are strategically placed around the MapleStory world.

However, the possible release of this in gMS hasn’t all been good reception; people who have played MapleSEA say that there were certain technical issues that came along with MapleTV, mainly one bug in particular that happens when a user leaves the map or changes channels where a TV set is displayed on screen.  It doesn’t sound to be an absolutely critical bug by the sounds of it, but it may prove to be an annoyance.

Will MapleTV really be making its debut in gMS soon?  I guess we’ll find out in the coming weeks.

In addition, no matter how hard they try, the GMs just can’t find a way to make themselves funny in the eyes of the community.  As much as they seem to enjoy poking themselves with toy weapons scattered around the office (like one GM blog said) I think they should just stick to banning people rather than try to be funny. :P

Got A Twink In Your PQ?

B0WJOB has just the solution; A story that’s been passed down through the ages.

You may have seen it if you frequent sleepywood or basilmarket, but this is my first time seeing it.  :P Not to mention the idiot that he talks about here was a complete and utter retard to be dropping his stars like that.

At this point he began to outright insult the party for no reason at all, tellingus that I (the leader) wouldn’t kick him anyway, because they were so close to completing. As much as I did want to kick him at that point, I realized that we were indeed close to finishing, and didn’t want our efforts to go to waste….besides, kicking him out now would be letting him off easy. So we keep going on, trying to combinations, not gettin em right and all, while he continues to berate us at every turn. Finally, I guess he felt the need to show-off some more, so he climbed the ladder, went to the furthest side away from us, and began to drop his stars. A couple of tobis, some steelies, and an illbi popped out while he F2’s at us, thinking he was safely out of harms way.

At this point, I saw my opputunity to get back at him, and went for it.

After saying a silent apology to my team, I waited for him to drop all his stars again (especially the illbis) then quickly clicked the exit NPC, booting us out and leaving his steelies, tobis, and illbi to rot in the hell known as stage 8.

Shortly after exiting, he promptly defamed me and logged off; I assume he went to go mope about his loss somewhere quiet. My dropped fame was the least of my cares at that moment. I realized what I did was a little harsh, but the guy deserved it for being a complete jerk for no reason.

In this case, though, now I’ve been waiting to use a response like this for a long time, but this is all I have to say to this:
