Nexon blocks European IPs from KartRider

In an interesting move, Nexon seems to have decided to block European IPs from playing the KartRider beta following yesterday morning’s patch, thus rekindling fears that European IPs might be blocked from gMS. (Something that I still don’t think will happen.)

Now, before anyone starts hearing alarm bells regarding this move, I just want to point out one thing: Nexon America seems to have done the exact same thing with Audition’s beta, so chances are this is in effect for the beta only. KartRider, being a beta, isn’t technically ready for the whole world to play yet, and thus it seems Nexon wants to keep the game restricted to the immediate area that it’s responsible for. When the game reaches final (or maybe open beta) I’m positive that Europeans will probably be able to play again.

However, until then, it’s only a waiting game to see what really happens when it comes time to open up gKR to the rest of the world.

In the meantime, though, the last patch finally got a new technical track put into the game; I nice one too. I like it:

MadBaby’s Pyramid Mesa Video (2:04.37)

I’m only less than a second slower than this guy (2:04.87) and I’m slowly coming close to that crucial 2:30 mark on speedway as well. (2:30.84)

So yes, to review, European IPs were in fact blocked from Audition during its beta period, so I only think this IP block is only in place for KartRider’s beta period. It’s an inconvenience for all the European players out there but I think it’s nothing to worry about.
